Browsing through directories

Browsing through directories in indexsoft Site-UP can be performed in two ways: in the main window and in the menu window. Sometimes it is easier to go to the needed directory using the menu window and then synchronize the current directory of the main window with the current directory of the menu window. If necessary, you can always synchronize the directories selected in the main and menu windows. To synchronize the current directory in the main window with the directory selected in the menu, you should click the 'Sync' link at the top of the main window. To synchronize the current directory of the menu window with the directory selected in the main window, you should double-click anywhere in the menu. See also the configuration parameters 'Prompt for the target directory' and 'Auto change menu directory' in the 'Site-UP behavior' section of the configuration mode. From the menu window you will be able to access basic file operations, such as unpacking (to the current directory selected in the menu), editing a file, inserting an image in the WYSIWYG editor (provided that the editor is opened in the main window of indexsoft Site-UP), quick image pre-view (when the mouse cursor is placed over an image file). In the main window of indexsoft Site-Up, along with the basic operations, you will be able to perform the following actions, duplicating or making the use of frequently used main commands easier:

  1. Double-clicking the file or directory selection checkbox with the left mouse button will copy a file or a directory adding to the present name the extension specified in the 'Backup extension' configuration parameter (the default is 'bak')
  2. Double-clicking the line with the name of a file or a directory with the left mouse button will open the file or the directory in a new browser window.
  3. Double-clicking the new file name field with the left mouse button will automatically fill this field with the name of the selected file or directory, adding to it the extension specified in the 'Backup extension' configuration parameter. It can be useful for the quick creation of back-up files and for the operations of copying, renaming or moving.
  4. You can download the file to the local computer using the link in the 'Size' column in the file list.
  5. If the file is executable, you can run it and view the result of its performance using the link in the 'Mode' column in the file list.
