Installing in the root directory of your website

We recommend you to install indexsoft Site-Up into a separate directory in the document root directory of you website.  To install indexsoft Site-Up into the 'cgi-bin' directory will be covered later.

• In the document root directory, create a directory where indexsoft Site-Up will be installed (e.g. 'admin').
• Copy all files and directories from the distributive to the directory 'admin'.
• Set the executable rights for every 'cgi' file to 755 (to 711 or even to 700 if your server allows it).

The installation process of indexsoft Site-Up is over! Type something like http://your_domain/admin/index.cgi in your browser.

Please note that for indexsoft Site-Up to work properly if it is installed in the document root directory of the website, your server must not ignore '.htaccess' configuration files (the directive AllowOverwrite must be set to 'All' for the Apache web sever).
