description:
indexsoft Site-UP is a content management panel for your website with built-in WYSIWYG editor. By using indexsoft Site-UP you can easy support operations at your website using only a computer connected to the Internet and a browser.

installation:

• Make sure that the first line in each '*.cgi' file points to a proper Perl interpreter directory. In most cases '#!/usr/bin/perl' should be OK. However, in some cases servers can have Perl interpreter located in some different directory. Change the first lines in '*.cgi' files according to your server specifications.
• Create directory for indexsoft Site-UP (for ex. 'admin') and copy all files to this directory (please not this derictory should be accessible from the internet).
• Install the execution rights for each of '*.cgi' file to '755' (or 'rwx-rx-rx'). Obviously, the minimum of possible execution rights would be the best: '711' or even '700', if your host settings allow this.
• That is all! Point your browser to 'index.cgi' file

installation notes:
We recommend to install indexsoft Site-UP to any place of the root directory of the web server (not 'cgi-bin'). In this case your web server should not ignore '.htaccess' files. It means that 'AllowOverride' directive should be set to 'All'.

If you install indexsoft Site-UP to the 'cgi-bin' directory you need to move 'htmlarea' directory to any place of the root directory of the web server, then open 'config.pm' configuration file and change $HTMLAREAURL variable. Please note you can edit 'config.pm' configuration file from indexsoft Site-Up.

upgrade:

• Check first line of all '*.cgi' files (#!/usr/bin/perl) and change it according to your server specifications
• Overwrite old files with files from new distribution kit.
• Install the execution rights for new '*.cgi' files.
• If you modified 'config.pm' file, you need make this changes again.

security notes:
indexsoft Site-UP is the tool for administrators only. We strongly recommend after installation of the indexsoft Site-UP first of all protect a directory in which it installed and to grant access to use the indexsoft Site-UP only for administrators. To be in safe we recommend indexsoft access manager.
