system requirements:
Any operating system with Perl and Apache web-server installed (including Windows). For correct work of the indexsoft access manager it is desirable that your webserver runs scripts with Setuid CGI execution, differently quite probably to you it will be necessary to allow for a script to create files by chmod directories to 777

security notes:
indexsoft access manager is the tool for websites administrators only. If malefactors will take advantage of indexsoft access manager this can result in undesirable consequences and even to stop your website. We strongly recommend after installation of the indexsoft access manager first of all protect a directory in which it installed and to grant access to use the indexsoft access manager only for administrators.

quick installation:

change first line of 'accessmanager.cgi' (#!/usr/bin/perl) if needed. This line should contain symbols "!#" at the beginning of line and further a path and a name of a file for run Perl
copy 'accessmanager.cgi' to any directory where scripts runs (most likely cgi-bin). If you upload files via FTP to *nix system pay attention that you uploading it in ASCII mode.
chmod 'accessmanager.cgi' to 755 (or 700)
open 'accessmanager.cgi' in your browser. indexsoft access manager is self configuring but we recommend to check-up configuration file carefully while installation

You can also create 'accessmanager.pm' file manually by defining all variables (or using variables from automatically generated configuration file) and put it at the same directory where 'accessmanager.cgi' is. If you prefer you can manually edit 'accessmanager.pm' as you need instead editing it from indexsoft accessmanager.

variables:

In most cases values of all variables defined automatically. You can open 'accessmanager.cgi' in your browser, click "configuration file", click "Generate configuration file automatically" and see all used variables, their values and descriptions and change some of them if you will find necessary.

upgrade from ver 1.00-1.05:

check first line of new version accessmanager.cgi and change it if needed
copy new accessmanager.cgi in place of old version of this file
open 'accessmanager.cgi' in your browser
click "configuration file"
click "Upgrade old version configuration file"
check-up configuration file carefully and fill in all indispensable variables if it is required
click "Save configuration file"
